Selected 3-person team to develop the first interactive demo for the collaboration announcement between T-Mobile and SpaceX/Starlink.
Challenge
Designing in the Dark: The T-Mobile and Starlink collaboration involved highly technical, "dark project" concepts that were difficult for non-technical audiences to grasp. The hurdle was to visualize "beyond visual line of sight" connectivity in a way that felt tangible, secure, and groundbreaking.
Discovery
I realized the friction to obtain project info wasn't a lack of transparency, but a "translation gap" between technical engineering and visual/brand positioning. By developing a visual journey that addressed both privacy constraints and marketing objectives, we provided the necessary bridge that spoke to audiences from both a technical and non-technical lens.
Impact
Established a collaborative and non-ego environment to include the PM into the creative process. The praise from both T-Mobile and SpaceX teams on our translation of the technology was rewarding, but personally more valuable to truly collaborate with no titles. Keeping the excitement and digging together to craft something remarkable are aspects that evolved how we continued to work together on future projects.
